VOLUNTEER

Our volunteers play a vital role in the work that we do at Nac Gardens Network, and we have a wide variety of roles available for every schedule and skillset. Come get your hands dirty at one of our beautiful garden sites. You’ll have the opportunity to learn holistic gardening practices from school garden teachers, teach a child about the wonders of vegetables and herbs, and work alongside our wonderful family of dedicated volunteers, teachers, community partners and SFA interns. The possibilities are endless and we’re excited for to grow our skills, health and community together.

Email our volunteer coordinator at nacgardens@gmail.com to hear about how YOU can help.

SFA & Angelina College

Volunteering or interning with school and community gardens offers a wide ranging experience for college students.  Because gardening is inherently multi-disciplinary, many students from varying majors can support our programing while gaining real-world skills.  We've had student interns and volunteers from:

  • Nutrition

  • Horticulture

  • Environmental Science

  • Hospitality

  • Kinesiology

  • Communications

  • Teaching

  • And more!

service learning projects

We host monthly Service Learning Days at various garden sites. You don’t need any gardening experience to join in- just a love of learning and a willingness to serve! Make new friends as you help us plant, water, mulch and more!  Plus, you'll learn a variety of gardening skills and techniques during our mini workshops.

We can’t wait to see you at our next Service Learning Day!
